I have been able to trace back several generations of my father's paternal family, the Pearsons, to one town, Richmond, Quebec. Most of this information came from a distant cousin who I stumbled across quite by chance, wasn't even doing research at the time. Rumour has it that the Pearsons immigrated from Ireland, but so far I haven't been able to find proof of that.

I have also been able to trace his maternal family, the Halberts, to Richmond, Quebec. I have been told his maternal grandfather, Henry Halbert, is from the UK, as he was an officer in the British Army, and originally from Birmingham, England. However, I've yet to find proof of his origin as well.

My mother's paternal family, the Braziers, are from England, around London, and I've also had great results tracing them, mostly due to a 2nd cousin who lives over there and who has done some research into his family.

I had the least results on my mother's maternal family, the Porters, from Belfast, Ireland until just recently. A cousin, who is also looking into the family history, stumbled across a distant 3rd cousin who lives in California and this new cousin has provided us with a ton of information on the Porters and even had a picture of our great great grandparents.
